The interim assessment instrument is the most important element of the process of evaluating the work of Doctoral Students at the Doctoral School of Physical Culture Sciences in Krakow. The effectiveness of that process is verified from the first semester of education on the basis of a semestral- and annual assessment, which itself is based on: the successful completion of the programme courses at the Doctoral School, the evaluation of progress made with the Individual Research Plan based on a submitted report summarising the academic year, the evaluation of teaching and research placements completed, the evaluation of the record of scientific achievements related to the subject of the doctoral dissertation, and the interim assessment. The interim assessment is to evaluate Year 2 Doctoral Students in terms of the Individual Research Plan implementation. The detailed criteria and rules of conducting the interim assessment are set out in §§14(1) (5) and 14(2)-(7) as well as §§15 and 16 of the General Rules of Study at the Doctoral School, resolved by the Senate of AKF in Krakow; the procedure covers the submission of the required documents by the Doctoral Students at the Doctoral School Secretariat and interviews with the Doctoral Students, along with a presentation before the Evaluation Board.
