The project 'GreenPE – An Innovative Model of Physical Activity for Sustainable Personal and Environmental Health' was implemented by the Bronisław Czech University of Physical Education in Kraków. It provided participants with the opportunity to adopt healthy lifestyle habits through an innovative form of activity: slow jogging.

This initiative was part of a project funded by the Visegrad Fund, involving universities from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

The inaugural meeting took place in February 2024 at the University of Pécs, bringing together representatives of all project partners, including Dr. Karolina Talar and Mgr. Dominik Jurasiński from AWF Kraków. The aim of the project was not only to improve participants' physical health but also to foster relationship-building and group integration, particularly among students.

Slow jogging, which delivers many positive stimuli, merges physical and social elements. Participants, under the guidance of professional instructors, were encouraged to jog together at an individually adjusted pace. This approach not only improved fitness but also helped build new social bonds.

The project emphasized cooperation and accessibility, particularly for individuals who are not regularly active—making it open to people of all fitness levels.

The program included 20-week pilot sessions combining: weekly training sessions, and lecture-style classes on broadly understood healthy lifestyle practices and physical activity.

In addition, participants received support from the project's team of specialists, contributing to a dynamic and friendly environment—a quality participants highly valued.

Engaging in the program promoted healthy habits and social integration, giving participants the chance to establish new relationships both within and outside the university. The slow jogging sessions strengthened the sense of community and encouraged the development of positive, lasting habits.

The group of students who took part expressed satisfaction with this unique form of physical activity, emphasizing the value of shared motivation and support in achieving a healthy lifestyle.

It can be confidently stated that slow jogging benefits overall human health, offering improvements in both physical and mental well-being. This type of regular physical activity, combined with newly formed relationships, contributes significantly to stress reduction, mood enhancement, and overall wellness.

The success of this experience has sparked a desire to continue similar initiatives, suggesting interest in organizing more slow jogging sessions and other health-promoting and integrative activities for students.

The 'GreenPE' project not only introduced an innovative approach to physical education, but also inspired further efforts toward shared health and social connection.

Acknowledgments: On behalf of the entire project team, we sincerely thank all participants and warmly invite you to future collaborations in similar events focused on your well-being, social bonding, and the joy of active living.
