Małgorzata Siekańska, associate professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. She run classes in psychology (“Sports Psychology”, “Psychological Mechanisms of Behavior in Extreme Environments”) and social communication (“Negotiations and Decision-Making”, “Methods and Techniques of Preparing Publications and Scientific Presentations”). For 15 years she has been teaching classes for foreign students within the “Erasmus” program at the Universityof Physical Culture in Krakow, as well as at Florida State University, University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, University of Denver, University College Birmingham, Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences. She is a certified Sports Psychologist (Certificate from the Polish Psychological Association). She is a member of the Sports Psychology Section of the Polish Psychological Association, the International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP) and the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC). She serves as a reviewer and as a member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Movement Science and Sport Psychology” (thematic section: “Frontiers in Psychology and Frontiers in Sports and Active Living”).
She specializes in the psychology of giftedness, performance and sport (i.e., identifying sports abilities, developing sports talent and psychological support in the development of
a dual career). Her publications and presentations at foreign (>30) and domestic (>30) conferences concern these topics. From August 2017 to April 30, 2018, she completed a scientific internship in the USA, at Florida State University in Tallahassee, and in April 2020 a month-long internship at the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara. Currently, he conducts research in the field of: metacognitive abilities, self-regulation in athletes and self-regulated learning (collaboration with prof. Bradley W. Young from the University of Ottawa).
